HyperX Cloud Alpha Headphones

The Hyper X Cloud Alpha are by far up there with the best headsets I have ever tried.
As many know I love my Sony MDR v55's. The Cloud Alpha's are up there with them.
The sound quality is amazing.
The overall look and feel of this headset is good too, you would think that these are a more expensive that what they really are.
At £79 (price paid) you are getting a lot for your money.
The over ear design allows you to wear these for a long period of time without them squeezing all the blood from your ears and making them numb.
I have started to use these during my live streams and so far have no complaints.

I know that there are some people who will be "but they are not wireless" and "what about USB" and I guess that not everyone will like that they are 3.5mm jack sockets, however if you are looking for a comfortable, well built set of over ear headphones then look no further.
These will suit your needs.

The versatility of using this headset across multiple devices from mobile, console and PC is just what I need.

They also have a unique "HyperX Dual Chamber Drivers"
In short this is different sized cavities within the headset that delivers crisp audio quality with only one speaker driver in each side. This makes the headset really lightweight and comfortable.

The other feature that I like is the braided cable.
This is something that is becoming more and more common for phone charger cables and game controller cables due to the fact it helps protect the cable and help take the strain of day to day use.
This will not only prolong the life of the headset but gives the cable a nice finish too.
If you are not a fan of the braided cable then have no fear as the cable can be replaced.

This is another plus point for me. Almost all headsets these days are "hard wired" into the headset. If the cable was to get damaged then you would have to buy a new pair of headphones.
Not with the Cloud Alpha headphones.
The braided cable can be removed from the headset and replaced with a cable of your choice (as long as its a 3.5mm cable)
The microphone too can also be replaced. Both of which can be found on Amazon or by contacting HyperX.
Another plus point is the ear cups or foam surround can also be replaced. This is something my Sony MDR's does not have.

Speaking more of the headset, the build quality is solid. Built with a aluminium frame and soft leatherette material for the headband and ear cups.
This will give a good seal around your ears ensuring less background noise entering. It also makes them more comfortable when using the headset for longer hours.

Now the microphone.
The microphone connects easily into the side of headset, and can be adjusted. The included pop filter on the end to help reduce the popping sounds when speaking. This also helps cut down on any wind noise.
As for the microphone quality I would give it a 4 out of 5. It's never going to be studio quality like most XLR or snowball microphones however, for use on discord or in-game voice chat then you can't go wrong. Let's not forget the fact with a XLR microphone you need to buy a phantom power box.

The HyperX Cloud Alpha is the perfect headset for anyone looking for an analogue gaming headset under £100 and I would recommend them to you if you are in the market looking for a new pair of good quality headphones.
